Woke up and sorted out tickets on a flying dolphin (ferry) to Hydra, another island approximately 40mins away. Arrived and had a coffee with Bryan and Hattie before heading out to take snaps. I am back on a roll, took almost 400 photos today. Of course some are rubbish but I really felt like I was back in the swing of things. It was great people watching and just walking around. This Island is where all the rich Americans and general well to do people rock up. Unfortunately it has no water, this has to be ferried in every day. It also does not allow cars so mules do most of the work, I felt really sorry for the poor things.
Headed back around 4.30 and kept walking around Poros to get some last photos, light was lovely although I was sweating it walking up the hill to the clock tower. When I had been walking for a couple of hours and felt so sick I thought I could not go on a lovely Taverna owner held out a fork with watermelon on it as I was passing by, how could I say no? So I sat down, had some melon, a beer and chewed the fat. Again, just wonderful watching the world go by. I also managed to get some great portraits today. I love that I am feeling more comfortable in asking people, they are generally chuffed to think that you want to take a photo of them. When I was taking a photo of a guy in town he asked where I was from and then said "to Sydney with love from Poros" haha, it was good.
We are off to dinner at a place where the guy loves to scream at everyone, a real hoot. Have gotten quite used to him as the food is wonderful.
